I KNOW you will want to raise your voice on protest on this one… Seems that designer Karl Lagerfeld has gone public saying that, “Curvy women should stay off the catwalk…”
Okay, it is one thing to say that YOUR company chooses not to include plus models… but another to make a statement saying they they should stay off the catwalk!

So as a plus-size girl that over the yers has fallen in love with Chanel for many reasons this makes me so upset. When Coco Chanel first started her company she was about giving ladies what they wanted and not what was deemed as appropriate. She was all about the comfort for the ladies, and dressed every women not matter what size she was.
I think that someone needs to remind Mr. Negative of the roots for which he comes from.
Just my thought.
As a former plus sized model and professional dancer, I am shocked and offended by Lagerfelds comment and I feel that all women of all sizes should boycott not only Lagerfelds brand, but the Chanel brand. No more
Chanel ANYTHING for me!!! In fact, I am going to stop using my bags or wearing their cologne until he retracts his statement AND hires 2-3 plus sized models for his shows! This needs so be a National and International stand! Get some major names in the business to take this stand. How about Oprah?
I just hope that other designers aren’t changing there minds about including plus-size clothes and models in there collections. We’ve come a long way and there are going to be those who are oppose to our having any representation. The way I see it the another designer might be more encouraged to go out on a limb and have a plus-size model in his or her show. It’s important that we continue to love, inspire, and encourage the clothing industry to recognize us a beautiful and desirable women. I like the shift I’m seeing and I know the best it yet to come. One day he’ll be forced to eat his words.
