Site Awards First Month Winners & Sparks Hundreds Of Uplifting, Personal Stories

Austin, TX – December 2009 – Last month, NaturallyCurly.com, the online oasis for curlies since 1998, unveiled the 2009 Grow Out Challenge and encouraged women to embrace the liberation of wearing their hair natural by embarking on a 6 month journey of transition. Since the official launch on October 5th – over 350 bloggers have posted their very personal stories.

NaturallyCurly partnered up with Titi and Miko Branch, owners of the Miss Jessie’s line for the six month Grow Out Challenge. Launched on October 5th 2009 and running through March 31st 2010, Miss Jessie’s will award over $3,600 worth of products to the participants who show the most gumption and dedication on this journey of transition.

Bloggers #7, #88, #111 and #159 were the first month winners. Ms. Mae (#7), who did her big chop in July created a blog to document her journey, share what she has learned and what has been for her to inspire someone else on the wonderful journey of going natural. LJKelly (#88) has transitioned from relaxed hair to natural hair and plans for the BC on her 27th birthday! MMMaryx (#111) is learning to love and accept what she’s got and is embracing her true, curly girl status. Sharonsc (#159) shares her candid and open experience on the woes of uneven, grow out stages, but doesn’t regret her choice to go natural for one minute. Oh and she simply cannot leave without her Miss Jessie’s products!

There’s still time to join your fellow curlies on the ultimate hair adventure. NaturallyCurly.com invites curly-Q’s to undertake the sometimes difficult, yet, completely rewarding challenge of going natural.

To start the process, simply become a registered member of NaturallyCurly, create your first blog post and upload images of the first stages of the challenge, read other transitioner’s blogs and check their progress, update your blog and add new photos as you notice more growth. Each month four new winners will be selected to receive a personal hair prescription and products from Miss Jessie’s valued at approximately $150.00.

Watch for an update on April’s Grow Out Challenge Event being held in Austin, Texas, where curlies can meet members of NaturallyCurly.com, and Titi and Miko Branch of Miss Jessie’s for an end-of-the-challenge celebration!
