Plus Size retailer, Ashley Stewart seems to be taking a new direction with their latest campaign.
The new Mother’s Day ads feature famous plus size model Crystal Renn in a simple summer dress and a mane of curls. I can’t ever recall a caucasian plus size model ever modeling for AS but I may be wrong so don’t quote me.
I never questioned why they only used women of color since it seemed to be their target audience but I have to say it’s refreshing to see them being inclusive of another demographic of women.
Will we see more diversity in their campaigns or is this a Crystal Renn Exclusive?
We will have to wait and see as I work on getting information from Ashley Stuart Executives.
I would love to know how the Ashley Stewart customers feel.

I LOVE IT!! I’m an African-American woman myself, but I for a fact know that other races shop at AS. So they should show diversity by featuring different models. By the way, Crystal’s picture is beautiful!!
