The outpouring of love and support from our readers and the plus size industry has been overwhelming! Please know that your words and phone calls have lightened our hearts…
By the time I went to bed last evening, my mind was still racing as I felt like I had left something out of the post. But this morning, when I arrived at my desk, I understood what was missing…
I turned my daily, “The Power of Intention” calendar by Dr. Wayne Dyer to today’s date… the quote of the day was, “If you really want approval, stop thinking about yourself, and focus on reaching out and helping others.”
This hit home with me… so many of the projects that have propelled the plus movement forward have been guided by individuals who understand and live this concept. Each of us are where we are today due in part by the support of those who we meet upon our journey in life… those that take the time to offer sound advice, direction, education, inspiration and more with an open heart expecting nothing in return. I know that I am grateful everyday for these amazing people who have graced my life.
And as there are those that can lift us up… there are those dedicated to tearing us down. Why do they do it? It could be jealousy, anger, intimidation, need for approval, self esteem issues, etc. Any way you look at it though, bad words = bad Karma.
And a word to those people… Please remember that even though the plus size industry is large in numbers, the sister and brotherhood who keep things progressing forward are not only dedicated to the curvy movement, but dedicated to the preservation of its’ integrity as well.
If you or someone you know dedicates their time during a meeting, go-see, audition, dinner, etc. to speak negatively of others, they have no idea the power of words to not only hurt others, as was their intention, but ultimately themselves; you never know the network of people in the room and whose ears your words may find themselves being spoken to.
Yes, your Mom was right… “If you don’t have something nice to say, it’s better not to say anything.” I would take this one step further and say, “If you don’t have your facts straight, then you don’t HAVE anything to say.”
With utmost appreciation and respect for all of you who ‘fight the good fight’ everyday in pursuit of the curvy movement and moving our industry forward… may you continue to follow your dreams, and as you do, don’t forget to take the time to help others along the way; we all have something we can share… and THAT is good Karma…

This really didn’t need explanation. Everyone loves Maddy and Plus Model Magazine. It called business, model gets to shoot with top photogs,great tears and exposure what part is misunderstood.

This is very typical in this industry and I truly hope everyone pays attention to this matter. Usually when this occurs the gossipers are jealous and envious of that persons success and ambition. If you look at the source and then at the person they are gossiping about usually the victim of the gossip is sucessful and doing nothing wrong but living out their dream. I hope that people think before they run with the latest gossip or rumor. More than likely it was created to hurt someone else because of the gossipers insecurites and jealousy. Keeping a rumor going without any facts or proof is very hurtful.
