About Editor-in-Chief, Madeline Jones
Always an activist and looking to bring plus size women into a fashion forward mentality, in 2006 she combined forces with friend and online magazine publisher, Valery Amador, to create PLUS Model Magazine, where they could respond to plus women's demand for fashionable clothing displayed prominently on appropriately sized models. April issue with Joanne Borgella on the cover. It totaly defines the term ‘plus size woman’. She has both the face and the curves to show it. She looks exceptionally beautiful on that picture. I love it!!!
I love the April 2010 cover because it has full length shot of the model in young fashionable clothing, and is not trying to hide all her flesh as if it were a sin! I like that you can see her shoulders and her rounded arms, and I love the fact that she is a woman I can relate to. She is not a size 10 “plus size” model, but a model of a “real” size. She is somebody many of us can identify with, and she is presented in a sexy fun way, showing that you can be big, but still ooze confidence and sex appeal, and still have a full and enriched life. I love that she isn’t over styled, and has a plain simple top and plain jeans on. She isn’t being drowned out by colourful backgrounds or bold jewellery. The readers focus is just on the beautiful plus girl gracing the cover of the magazine
january and may. there’s something about the warm gazes on these covers that pulls me in.

January is my absolute favorite. Its so feminine and has a bit of a vintage quality.
I have to say January is my favorite. That cover exudes confidence, sexy appeal, exotic, beauty, and glamor, all the things that plus size women are, in spite of the many negative connotations that are tied to us. She is classic, classy an elegant. That the picture is black and white just heightens the beauty of the shot. And the model, in only a slip, looks stunning and beautiful, not crass like the shoot could have gone.
My favorite cover is August 10th I think the way that the model is posing truly showcases her figure in a flattering way and the background is subtle and not taking from the photo of the model. I would even say that it could have been cropped closer up so we can see more of her face, obviously she is a lovely girl. We know that this is a background of Hollywood and less Hollywood more model… Yet, out of all the covers this was my favorite…

All of the covers are gorgeous in their own way but to enter this contest I need to pick a favorite. My favorite cover was November 2010 because I loved the rough gray beackground, the styling of the clothing, accessories hair and makeup. I also really like this model’s eye contact and pose. Hilary is on my list of favorites as far as posing is concerned and I always see her while shopping online with Ashley Stewart. Yep, November’s cover is my favorite.
I like April 2010 the best. The model is the girl next door type and is, in my eyes, truly plus size and beautiful! The fact that she is holding a guitar and it is a music issue just seals the deal for me!

I think they are all unique and very beautiful creative covers but I would have to say that my favorite one is the August 2010 issue because she shows sensuality and the minute I saw this cover I was drawn to every lil detail of her outfit from the stunning earrings down to her fabulous jeans. This look makes me want to go shopping and out dancing
I love how the shoot was on top of a building in hollywood even though it didn’t really capture the more exquisite views of Hollywood it still looks alluring and captivating and she is the cherry on top that makes this cover very appealing.

October seems to say it all
August was definitely my favorite cover. It was a sexy and classy shot. Loved it!
My fav is August: the background, the lighting , the styling and the topic: denim! What more is there to say?
I love th oct 2010 cover. The model is stunning and is showing off her curves eforlely!!! Plus the cover says love your body! something we all need to do! besides skinny girls r for wimps hahah!!!!
My favorite 2010 cover would have to be February but I most admit I am a little impartial to that month since I got married that Valentine’s Day weekend. This cover actually is reminiscent of the bridal style I chose. I went with a vintage Old Hollywood theme complete with a black Russian birdcage blusher veil, similar to the headpiece the model is wearing . I would love to win this contest because my first anniversary is approaching and I could use a couple of freakum dresses and lingerie for our celebration, LOL! On a serious note, thank you for allowing this opportunity and for consistently provide us, plus size girls, with positive self-imagery. Keep up the great work!
I like March. The cover puts you in mind of a Vogue cover.
I love the September 2010 issue simply because home girl is Fee-Yus!! That electric blue dress paired with those taupe boots and those patterened tights give me so much life! Not to mention that pose (and double props for her being a southern belle quite like myself

March is my favorite. The outfit is hot, the model looks super confident, and the overall design of the page is great.
I love March’s cover!! While August is my 2nd favorite, I am seeing her everywhere…but when I see March, not only does her eyes blow me away, the whole look is sexy and not something you see all the time! It’s almost like Vogue.
I’m torn between the April & May covers, but the May cover with Jordan Tesfay edges ahead. I love the big hair & the Old Hollywood elegance of this shot. It’s simple but makes a statement of the beauty of the Plus size woman. The pic highlights the model’s awesome facial features beautifully.
I love February because it simple and noting takes way from the beauty of the model. I love the red text cause it helps the red lipstick pop more since they used a more neutral tones in the outfit the model is wearing. I really love edgy vintage looks she has. The lace mask is high fashion but it’s just the perfect balance.
My all time favorite is March 2010!
Can we say Jerseylicious defined all day! Big hair, fur coat, n glam top n bottom. In addition, Chloe had an attitude of a Jersey girl oozing off this cover…..Its my fav cause of the Jersey feel and attitude.
The August cover was my favorite. The whole shot just oozes sex appeal, curves, and the strength of a woman who loves her body and isn’t afraid to flaunt it. I love this magazine with all my heart and can’t wait to see what 2011 brings!
I love the October issue with Flavia. She is the epitome of sexy. It goes to show how sexy a plus size girl can look. Love it.
I love AUGUST cover. She owns her curves and her pose owns the cover. The background, the typesetting and the model work together to bring the cover to be one great masterpiece. Denise Bidot takes command of cityscape and the pose is strong, sexual and confident. She models the jeans with the grace.
I LOVE the August cover… hands down the whole cover works.
All of the covers are so amazing I am really having a hard time picking my favorite. I think September and October 2010 are my top two faves. I love Fluvia so much that I think I will pick October 2010 as my choice. She just leaps off the cover and draws you in. She screams confidence to me and I love that!
January’s cover is my favorite. It is chic and it truly shows plus size as sexy and beautiful.
My favorite month cover is Febuary! It gives a romantic and sensual feel. It also taught me that you just don’t have to wear red for Valentine’s day. She looks amazing!!
While I love the Oct black and white with an obviously plus sized model in a sultry pose, and I love the colours in Aug…my FAVOURITE is definitely January. The black and white, the classic elegant sensual pose with the absolutely beautiful girl
Even though every girl on every cover is beautiful, I’m picking August as my favorite. Denise really makes the picture just about her. Her pose invites you in and you just can’t help but to look at every inch of her, from her stunning face and hair down to the barely visable heels. The outift looks like it was created for her curves and hers only. The background is simply that, the background. You don’t care what city it is or what sights you see. You care about the beauty that is standing on top of the building (and quite possibly the world).
My favorite is August with Denise Bidot. She is very sexy, and that cover has a very good mood. I would like to be there. Most of the time covers are so “sterile”, nice faces, but nothing extra. That cover has something plus for me.:) And I like February and September too.:)
It’s incredibly hard to choose because each cover shows the range that you guys go after in depicting various plus size women! However, I’m going to choose January. It captures the essence of the classic Bombshell, which you know I love.
My Favorite cover from 2010 is the February cover. it had some of my favorite things; lace, pearls, hair flowers, red lipstick, and a pretty party dress. i saw it and said, “Oh look a cover with someone that dresses like me.” plus February is my birthday month.
Okay. This was a pretty hard task. In the end the February Issue is my favorite. The personality for this issue just pores off the page. It is fun and playful without being busy. It pays tribute to plus size woman the best because we can all see ourselves in Mandy. One reason is because she is a contest winner- not a pro (yet) so she feels more like the everyday girl who has been transformed-adding the fantasy aspect. . Another reason is because it is a doable look for the everyday woman. A great cover moves me to see myself in it. This one feels like a representation that would be easy to achieve by the widest audience of woman. That makes it approachable. The mask adds a light, fun and romantic element. The cover is simple, classic, memorable, fun without being stuffy. I also like that the cover could really be any number of months, Change the wording and the February issue could easy be January or December, or really any of the issues from the year except maybe the Music, Swimsuit, and the Denim issue. Yay for the 9 month appeal! Go Mandy! Go February!

The August issue (denim) seems just seems stand out to me. The woman on the cover is gorgeous and confident, and is rocking those jeans. The picture makes me wish that I was her. Very real. Relatable.
I would defintely have to say my favorite magazine cover is August 2010. I say this because when you look at the cover it says sexy. The model is showing off her curves and it says I am PLUS SIZE but SEXY and SENSUAL!
I think august with Denise Bidot, really chic, high-fashion, but most importantly, a perfect example of plus size model beauty. The full length shot showcases the diva attitude while still keeping the soft, timid seductive touch. LOVE IT!
October 2010 is my favorite cover. Fluvia oozes sexy from this photo. This photo is universal and can be used for any magazine cover, plus or skinty minty (as I like to call them) sizes. The black and white picture makes the pink copy pop. You’re immediately drawn to the photo and the pink arial font “Love Your Body” copy at the bottom. I think the cover is universal and simplistic and sometimes that is all you need.

I like the August cover the best, it shows that a woman does not have to be a size two to be trendy and sexy, thank god. I just more of society would hurry up and realize this, not everyone likes a woman that looks like she skipped her last 5 meals, some of us like the voluptuous curvy woman.
August2010 – Denim
Well all wear jeans, whether casually or dressed up. Jeans are american. Denise image relays freedom, luxury and curvy beauty. The sky is open, she curves conquering the world in denim, something we all wear!

I love April 2010. She’s full bodied and a real plus woman, not “society’s plus”.
I would have to say that I like the January cover, because it is classic since it’s done in Black and White. It has a relaxing feel to the cover.
September 2010 is my favorite cover! The styling was super chic and sexy. Sarah Flack is curvy and beautiful. I also loved the location of the shoot. It really made the glam of the styling really pop.
AUGUST ISSUE IS BY FAR THE MOST STUNNING! IT’S THE ISSUE THAT MADE ME JOIN THE MAGAZINE AND FACE BOOK SITE. THERE’S A SEXINESS, ENERGY, AND EASY BEAUTY GOING ON IN THAT PICTURE THAT TRANSCENDS THE SHOT. SHE HAS A LOOK OF NO APOLOGIZING FOR HOW SHE LOOKS, BUT A “DON’T YOU WISH YOU ALL LOOKED THIS GOOD” ATTITUDE TOWARD ALL WOMEN. NOT EVEN WITH THE CAMERA IN HER FACE SHE SAYS A MOUTHFULL. I’M THE FULL

August. Denise is sexy ,she’s curvy and she looks like a million dollars. The tones on the photo are gorgeous and I could see her on many other magazines’ covers. She transcends plus beauty into just beauty and that’s what I want people to realize. Beauty is beauty. The size of the person isn’t relevant.
