NYC Plus Size Designer Is Looking For Up and Coming Plus Size Models in NYC

If you are an aspiring model looking for exposure, this could be the opportunity for you.

For this particular casting, PLUS Model Magazine is helping an up and coming designer with model selection, so for you PMM readers, make me proud and send me some great submissions.

This designer is looking for plus size models sizes 14 – 18, Caucasian or Hispanic looking. This means you don’t have to be either, but this is the look they are going for.

Your submission should include:

Clean head shot – not a lot of makeup

Full body shot – not in a wedding gown, or flowy dress. We need to see your body. (example jeans and a top)

Size you wear in Dresses, tops and pants

If you know your measurements, please include.

Please do not send nude or overly sexual pictures and spell check your email.  Any other questions should be asked to the designer directly.

Please email your submissions to [email protected] Only complete submissions from models in the NYC area will be submitted.

  1. Piper says

Well, that’s great. As a size 24 black woman, I don’t qualify! When are we going to see more black plus-size models? Now that Mia Amber Davis is gone, we don’t have anyone to represent for us and I’m too big to be the next ‘it’ girl. Ugh!

Not fair, what about girls like me that live In baltimore and are willing to travel?

As I agree with Piper, I have to say that it is a necessity to have Caucasian and Hispanic models when presenting your clothing line to retailers. When they see a designers pieces being worn by only Black women, they automatically categorize you as an “urban” designer only made for the “urban” woman and the designer has a higher possibility of not being carried in stores because of that.

I blame it on America. There are obviously some issues we still need to work through as a country for us to just be.
