Jessica Simpson’s Pregnant Image Ignites Controversy On The PLUS Model Magazine Facebook Fanpage

Little did I know when PLUS Model Magazine posted the image of Jessica Simpson on the cover of Elle Magazine on our Facebook page that it would get such a rise out of women. Over 100 likes in just a few minutes appeared, but the shocker was the comments.

Being pregnant is one of the most beautiful experiences for a woman, and unless you have walked in those shoes, you can’t imagine why you would show it off to the entire world on the cover of a magazine. Comments about not being married and the use of photoshop also came up. Yes, it’s a personal choice, but the conservative views came out in droves. Read some of the comments below:

Brandi  I am sure her child will be so proud of her mother for this…..not. Nothing wrong with it for your private memories but on the cover of a magazine? Utterly disgraceful. However, from her I would have expected nothing less, on top of being unmarried and pregnant. Her daddy should have been more concerned with her upbringing than her fame.

Jillian  I have had two children, and if I wanted to take a portrait like this, I would have. I personally did not do it, not because I don’t think it is beautiful, because it truly is. My husband loved my body when I was pregnant and he wants me to get pregnant again. I agree this is so boring, and the pose is old. Yes the woman has guts for doing this. Thank you Elle and Ms. Simpson for allowing my husband, as well as all of the other husbands in the world to view your naked pregnant body! I’m sure they needed that.

David  On a serious note? I’m a Photoshopper-From-Hell and I’m here to tell ya that something is fishy in the state of Denmark: Frankly? I think that’s JS’s head… grafted onto someone else’s body. The whole thing kooks REALLY weird to me… BTW… is she expecting Quadruplets?

Anita  Yuck! And that is beautiful and sexy how? That’s tacky and pornographic

Jennifer  Do we need and/or want to see this? I get the maternity photo thing – I carried twins and I loved carrying them. For celebs it’s always the same pose & same debate. Share these with your family and spare us.

Brook  ?@Brandi there’s nothing wrong with modeling like this. She’s not showing any private parts, they’re all covered. We look back on old paintings and sculptures and we never flinch at their nudity and it’s ALL out there, why would this be worse? It’s just like looking at a barbie doll. I see this as a statement that pregnant women are beautiful, too– and single pregnant women are just as much worth the look as single women that aren’t pregnant. More power to her. Open your mind- think outside of the box and stop being so trapped in your parent’s state of mind. This is bold and beautiful– try to see it and be happy for her!

Kristen  JS looks fantastic as always… Whether she’s a size 0 or 20, she’s still beautiful. Saying someone is plus-sized when they are pregnant is ridiculous. She has always been ridiculed about her weight. I’d give my pinky fingers to look like her (body-wise). Can’t people just be happy with HER happiness??? Always so much judgement… STOP IT, ALREADY… And so what if it’s airbrushed!!! What magazine cover ISN’T??? I give her lots of credit for doing this photo shoot. Just like I gave Demi Moore credit for doing hers. I totally agree with Brook McGauley… That’s the only way women were viewed/painted, hundred’s of years ago. This pic is NOT pornographic. Why would anyone even ‘go’ there??? Seriously??? This is BEAUTY…. CONGRATS TO YOU, JS……….

My reason for posting the image was to celebrate with our fans the beauty of life, never did I imagine that women who are constantly being bombarded with negative body images would have such a strong reaction to Jessica Simpson in the nude. We are elated for the 31 year old singer and her growing family. Even if you don’t agree with something someone does, there is a way to say things without being rude or mean. The kindness in people seems to be less and less these days, at least on Facebook.

More celebs who showed their bumps!

I couldn’t agree more with this last comment Maddy. It’s sad to see so many don’t understand that to be respected you need to start by respecting others. We should be better than that.

I don’t have an issue with this at all. I think all of the pictures are beautiful and tastefully done. Poeple judge abount everything now a days. I would’ve loved to be able to take a picture like this when I was pregnant. I admire that women want to show that even pregnant they can look beatiful. Yes is photoshopped but it also looks more natural than a regular magazine cover. Peple really need to stop being so judgemental just because they are not able to do some of this things. That’s what I think.
