Do I Need Money to Be a Plus Size Model?

Do I Need Money to Be a Plus Size Model?

People ask me this question ALL the time… and the answer is a resounding, “Yes!” As this is a business, in order to be a plus model, you will have to invest something in the business of YOU! Testing with photographers, body maintenance (teeth whitening, nails, hair, etc.) and traveling are just some of the investments you will have to make.

You will also need the time for castings and networking, so you will have to find a day-job that offers income AND flexibility so that you can pursue your career goals of becoming a plus model.

What is ‘testing’ and do I need photos
as an aspiring plus size model?

    Hi Julie,

Unfortunately, to be a model, you need money just as you would need money to pursue any career. It is an investment in yourself. You will need to headshots, be able to maintain your hair, teeth and body and etc. I believe that if you want something bad enough, you can make it happen if you work at it. So good luck and don’t give up.

    Thanks,
    Marcy
