Los Angeles, CA – June, 5, 2012… For the first time on a New York runway, Sorella Swim presents the 2012 resort collection to attendees of Full Figure Fashion Week.  Sorella Swim is the first luxury swimwear brand developed exclusively for the sexy, sophisticated, curvy woman.  Sorella Swim prides itself on using the highest quality fabrics and trims with specific focus on fit and figure flattering details.  This key attention to detail combined with superb craftsmanship and design set Sorella Swim apart from all other full-figure swimwear brands.  Sorella Swim is not trying to change or alter the curvy woman’s figure; the goal is to flatter her figure so she feels sexy and chic with a brand she can call her own.

Mrs. Petersen partnered with Reah Norman, Executive Fashion Editor of PLUS Model Magazine for the show.  Reah is no stranger to Full Figure Fashion Week; in 2010 she was named “Plus Fashion Stylist of the Year.”  Ms. Norman will be representing Sorella Swim during the show, styling the models and ensuring Sorella Swim a lasting impression on the plus size community.

ABOUT THE OWNER/DESIGNER:

Jessica Petersen, founder and designer, is no newcomer to the fashion industry.  After attending The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Jessica held many high profile design positions including designing private label baby and children collections for the Federated Merchandising Group and Disney, as well as ready-to-wear and swim for Torrid, the mall based plus size retailer.  The inspiration to create Sorella Swim came when Jessica watched her best friend struggle for yet another season to find quality, fashionable swimsuits that flatter her curvy silhouette.  Jessica recognized the need within the market for a line that delivers luxury while maintaining current trends.  The word “sorella” means sister in Italian.  Jessica considers her best friend a sister and looks to deliver quality, luxury and trend to sisters of all sizes.
