‘How The Media Failed Women in 2013’… A Video By The Representation Project That Is A Must-See (VIDEO)

According to their website, The Representation Project is a movement that uses film and media content to expose injustices created by gender stereotypes and to shift people’s consciousness towards change.

If their latest video is any indication of the work they have planned for 2014, we’re paying attention. See for yourself below. The video, titled ‘How The Media Failed Women in 2013‘ is powerful and really shows how negatively women have been portrayed in the media this year. It will definitely have you saying “WOW!” at the end.

Women did have some great accomplishments and achievements to celebrate in 2013, as noted in the beginning of the video. But the video also reminds us that we still have a long way to go in achieving gender equality and positive female portrayals in the media.

    Explain to me HOW is showing women in prison a positive at all? Also the part of the video showing the photoshopping of the photographer’s wife was meant to expose the injustice, it was a positive item shining a light on bad practices of an industry. Additionally, *some* of the items listed in the FAIL portion of the video are reaching a bit too far make a point and also stepping on individual’s artistic impression.
