When we first introduced our readers to German plus size model Silvana Denker as our Spotlight Model of the Month in our September 2013 issue, she showed how passionate she was about the plus size modeling industry and representing curvy women everywhere.
With her work and public appearances in the media, Silvana wants to build awareness that women beyond a size 6 are noticed and acknowledged in fashion, advertisement and in general public. She has now taken that passion one step further by spearheading a great charity project that not only showcases beautiful curvy women but also benefits a great cause: breast cancer research.
CURVeveS is Silvana’s way of showing the world how beautiful curvy women are by featuring them in a pin-up style calendar in images that are gorgeous and striking. The calendar shows real female images in advertising and within the modeling industry. The best part of it all is that all sales will benefit German breast cancer research and will go to the Foundation “Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V.“.
The calendar is currently being shot at a beautiful castle location in Germany and is expected to be available for purchase in May 2014. It will be sold worldwide via Amazon and other outlets. Silvana’s goal is to not only raise as much money as possible towards breast cancer research but to show the beauty of curves.
According to the press release, with this project Silvana Denker wants to make a statement. She wants to show how beautiful and sensual women are that don’t fit into the common ideal of female beauty. She supports a realistic and healthy image of women in public and hopes to take a step into the right direction with this project.
