Spring 2014 Fashion Must Have: The Crop Top

Spring 2014 Fashion Must Have: The Crop Top

Some of you may be saying to yourself right now, “Crop tops? No way!” But 2014 is all about breaking those fashion rules imposed on plus size women by society, telling us what we should and shouldn’t wear. Yes, plus size women can wear crop tops. And a few plus size retailers have launched some crop tops for spring that are stylish, on-trend and very versatile.

You don’t have to show a lot of skin when wearing a crop top. Pair it with a high-waisted skirt or pant to show just a little skin and still feel comfortable. Speaking of comfortable, if you’re not ready to show some tummy but love the crop top style, you can wear it over a strapless or sleeveless dress (which works double duty if you’re still not ready to bear your arms) or wear a tank top under your crop top. As you gain confidence in rocking the crop top, you will slowly be able to wear it on its own. The best part of the latest offerings in crop tops? Most of them are made with some stretch in the fabric so they move with you and don’t leave you feeling constricted.

Here’s some retailers you can purchase crop tops from in many styles, colors and prints:

Forever 21 - we love their different variations on the crop top. The middle one shown below is a great crop top for first-timers, trying the style.
