Looking For Plus Size Maternity Clothing? Here’s a 2015 Shopping Guide…
It’s a brand new year and some of you are expecting a little one in 2015. Congratulations!
Looking for plus size maternity clothing while pregnant can be a challenge. It may not be easy but there are options out there, if you are willing to do some research.
While shopping, don’t stay stuck on the size number on the tag. Try things on, if possible. Know your measurements and what you love to wear (that feels comfortable on you). You’d be surprised at the fit of some non-plus maternity that goes up to a 2X. The stretch of the fabric can make a difference.
Also, don’t ignore regular plus size clothing places, especially if you’re over a size 22. Maxi dresses, tunics, empire waist tops, jeggings, leggings and bottoms with an elastic waist all work well for maternity. Look for soft stretchy trapeze or baby-doll style tops and dresses, especially if you’re carrying through the summer. It will be comfortable and you’ll look cute too! Bottoms with drawstring waistbands are wonderful as well. So have fun! You can be stylish while plus and pregnant.

Destination Maternity: this well-known company offers affordable clothing in sizes 1X – 3X. They have everything from yoga pants to evening wear. There’s basic tops, maxi dresses and some trendy items. They also carry maternity bras, panties and hosiery.
Plus Mom Maternity: This is a website that is actually a guide to the latest plus size maternity clothing out there. They feature deals and tips on their homepage and it’s a great resource to bookmark and check regularly. Added bonus: They also have information and advice on being plus size and pregnant.
Old Navy: If you’re looking for basics, Old Navy is the place to shop. They now offer their popular pixie pants in maternity but only up to a size 18. Their clothing goes up to an XXL, which translates to a size 20 for them.
JC Penney: Another great place to find affordable basics but they offer more colors and prints as well as maxi dresses and pretty tops. Offers sizes 1X – 3X and always has deals and sales regularly.
Mommylicious Maternity: If you’re looking for trendy maternity pieces and even lingerie (yes!), this company offers that and more in sizes 1X – 4X.
Simply Be: This plus size retailer offers maternity clothing in sizes 8 – 28 but also offers regular plus size clothing that could work for maternity. Their website is worth a look.
Gap: They offer maternity clothing up to an XXL, which is a size 20. Lots of basics, including jeans, wrap dresses, ponte knit pieces and leggings.
Walmart: They don’t offer a big selection but if you’re looking for affordable maternity jeans and ponte knit pants, they have a few great options, all $20 or under.
OneStopPlus: This online retailer doesn’t have a huge assortment but they have offer career wear and some basics. If you’re looking for a blazer and slacks to wear to work as well as button-down shirts, this is the place to check out. Their clothing is available in sizes 12 – 32 AND most of the items are currently marked down drastically.
Kohl’s: The Oh Baby by Motherhood brand is available in sizes 1X – 3X; clothing is more casual tops and bottoms including jeans, stylish nursing tops, sweaters and tees. They offer deals and sales regularly.
Target: Their Liz Lange Maternity line is very popular and while the line only goes up to 2X, the cut is generous on a few pieces and could fit a 3X. Many of their plus size clothing can also work for maternity and is available in sizes up to 4X and 28 (sometimes 30).
Trendy Tummy Maternity: This is another online retailer that offer trendy, stylish clothing in sizes 1X – 3X.
