Did you miss Boston Curvy Fashion Week? If you did, we have you covered! PMM Blog Contributor Natasha Nurse of Dressing Room 8 attended the event and this is what she had to say about this plus positive fashion event:

The first ever Boston Curvy Fashion Week (BCFW) made its debut on July 23rd – 26th and yours truly had the opportunity to join in on the celebration of fashion, women, and curves!

Sandra Augustin is the Founder of BCFW. Her incredible efforts and supportive team is the reason why BCFW was an unforgettable show. You can read more about why she brought BCFW to Boston HERE! I’ll jump right into the fashion, as there was plenty of it!

On Saturday morning, we started the day with the Talbots Fashion Show & Styling Event where models walked down the store’s regal staircase one by one dressed in a range of plus size pieces from their collection.

It was great to see the versatility of looks they modeled from sportswear to professional attire.

Here are some pics from the show:

The textured tweed jacket (pictured upper right) caught my eye immediately, so I had to try it on myself! Who do you think wore it better?

I have a little obsession with cardigans, but a full blown love affair with their Diamond Tapestry cardigan in blue! It has such a flattering cut and completely comfortable – I’m sold!

Saturday was chocked full of fashion and the day concluded with The Curves Are Coming: Runway Show, hosted by Victoria James, Vlogger of Vikeejeah with special performances by JPLovesIt and Aria Jones.

The show was a lot of fun: the Caribbean music was bumpin’ and the designers definitely had some bold looks that captured the audience!

Catarina showcased tribal print in a very chic and modern way. The dress in the middle was an audience favorite:

I love the prints and flare in this collection:

Amanda Koker – ASK Fashion

As always, Ask Fashion did not disappoint and Amanda’s collection packed a full punch with one stunning look after another.

All in all, it was a great event. Not only was there fashion, but wonderful and interesting people.

In addition to the fashion component, there were also workshops held on the last day, which I found to be extremely insightful and motivational. I will be posting about those workshops on my site, Dressing Room 8.

I’m excited about attending next year’s BCFW and hope to see more curvy and plus size fashion weeks pop up across the country in the years to come!

Thanks for reading!
