PLUS Model Magazine Refuses to Edit Models’ Bodies in the October Love Your Body Issue

PLUS Model Magazine Refuses to Edit Model’s Bodies in the October Issue

PLUS Model Magazine (PMM) plus-model-mag.com, Brings Readers an Un-Edited, Un-Scripted Editorial and Video for the Annual “Love Your Body” (LYB) Issue…

This October, PMM and plus fashion brand Ashley Stewart inspire women to “Love Their Bodies” with an empowering editorial, video and feature, including plus size fitness experts, models, fashion bloggers and influencers.

The annual LYB Issue was originally created to celebrate plus size bodies and to inspire women to embrace their curves. Over the past several years, society has witnessed women embracing body positivity. No longer content with size-disparity, they are demanding a greater size range of models in fashion campaigns as well as more realistic editing of these photos to be more representative of all women.

Never one to shy away from discussing difficult subjects, PMM Editor-in-Chief, Madeline Jones, the outspoken advocate for plus women, has a lot to say on this subject.

“I’m not doing naked!” comments Editor-in-Chief, Madeline Jones. “It seems that unless you’re wearing bodycon clothing or posting pictures of yourself half-naked/naked, you are not deemed as body-confident or body-positive as others, who are bearing it all. I wanted to create an issue that did more than show skin; I wanted to inspire women with stories they could relate to.”

Jones continues:

“Finding the stories was not difficult; finding the women who would agree to be photographed without editing was my struggle; we are living in a society where images are altered before posting to Instagram.”

PMM features four powerful women in a behind-the-scenes video, “4 Women, 4 Stories, Un-scripted.” Rosaliz Jimenez (Photo Editor, People StyleWatch), Beck Delude (Fashion Blogger), CeCe Olisa (#PSPFIT) and our cover model Michelle Punzone. From a cancer diagnosis resulting in the loss of several organs to learning to be fit (and plus size) to depression after motherhood and more, these stories will create conversations and encourage women to stop comparing themselves to what society deems beautiful.

Ashley Stewart’s Chief Merchandising Officer Kristen Gaskins and her team have been driving the brand’s fashion assortment. On this partnership, Gaskins stated:

“Ashley Stewart touches the lives of so many in such a positive and empowering way and our partnership with PMM on the first ever unedited Love Your Body issue is proof of this. We are creating a movement that is allowing so many to embrace and celebrate their curves. The October cover and accompanying video helps to highlight why this movement is so relevant in today’s world.”
