Well, that time has arrived. The designer’s new plus size line, to be called RACHEL Rachel Roy Curvy, is set to launch next week in select Macy’s stores and on Macys.com. It will be available on RachelRoy.com in March.

According to Huff Post Style, who spoke with Roy, the 45 pieces in the RACHEL Rachel Roy Curvy 2016 collection will retail between $55-$179 and be available in sizes 14 to 24.

Roy told Huff Post Style why she refers to her collection as “curvy” when it is considered plus size in retail terms:

“A big part of developing this line was about listening. Listening to the marketplace, listening to what was going on in culture, and listening to the women who have been asking us to do this for years. Naming it ‘plus’ or ‘woman’ was never part of the conversation. We set out to create something that was true to us and true to the women who are wearing it — and they describe themselves as curvy.”

She also describes her vision when it came to creating her new plus size collection:

“My vision for my clothing collection is to dress women so they can go on with their day and life, and it’s a tiny bit more effortless because they have clothes that make them feel smart and sexy. It’s not dependent on whether or not she’s a size two or size 24.”

Roy also spoke with Buzzfeed this week on what to expect with her collection:

“Curvy customers want exactly what everyone else wants: comfy clothes that make them feel good, intelligent, and sexy. [That’s why] there’s not one design you’ll see in the curvy line that you won’t see in my contemporary collection.”

We love that Roy chose plus model Candice Huffine to be the star of her campaign and we can’t wait to see the new line and what she has to offer the plus size woman in terms of fashion.

She spoke to Buzzfeed on her working relationship with Huffine:

“My relationship with Candice is like many designers and their muses. I love fit models to be vocal, and she’ll tell me what’s missing, what she wants in the line, or when something needs a strap. I cherish that trust; it makes fittings fun!”
