Meet Plus Model Yanderis Lodos

Meet Plus Model Yanderis Lodos…

When you got it – YOU GOT IT! and plus model Yanderis Lodos has certainly been blessed with beauty, brains and talent. She has been in the modeling industry for seven years and has a presence that is undeniably memorable.

Today we get to know a little more about Yanderis.

[Maddy] How did you get your start in the modeling industry?

[Yanderis]  I got into this wonderful industry by luck!  I was listening to the local radio station and I heard an ad looking for actors and models to go interview with all the top agencies around the U.S.  I went for the acting portion but got turned down ?; I took some snap shots for the modeling portion just for fun and I ended up getting called back by 8 different agencies.

[Maddy] What are your top-three “must-haves” for a models bag?

[Yanderis] You must have cutlets, padding and DEODORANT!  ?

[Maddy] Where have we seen you?

[Yanderis] I’ve been on the cover of Ventitantos ; you’ve also seen me in Figure Magazine, Fashion Bug, and Lane Bryant ads. You can also catch me on HSN.

[Maddy] What has been the most fun or exciting modeling job to date?

[Yanderis] My most exciting job up to date has to be for the special editorial I did for Figure Magazine we shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The shoot took place at the Oak Valley Plantation and let me just tell you this place was extraordinary!  Not only were we able to stay at the plantation but we also got a history tour.

[Maddy] What type of exercise regimen and diet do you follow to maintain your fabulous figure?

[Yanderis] The gym and I are not very close friends ?  but I do love playing racquetball and tennis, I’m exercising but having fun, it’s all about being active!

[Maddy] Tell me about the first job you booked? How did you prepare for the shoot?

[Yanderis] The first job I booked was for Addition Elle.  It was my first job, first time on a plane by myself, and first time going to another country!  I was all types of nervous but when I got there I got the pleasure on working with Jordan (I believe she’s with Wilhelmina, NY) and the A.E. staff was just so welcoming and friendly. To prepare for the job I had to get my passport, and it has been well used there after!

[Maddy] As one of very few successful Latina plus size models, do you feel any pressure in the industry?

[Yanderis]  I can’t say that I have felt pressure as a Latina in the Plus Size industry. I feel that it has actually benefited my modeling career. Clients tend to describe my Latina look as exotic and alluring; which is a prefect way to describe any Latina. It puts me on a completely different playing field.

[Maddy]  What is your advice to aspiring models? Don’t let your nerves get the best of you!  Remember let make-up and wardrobe do there thing and remember to always shine in front of the camera!

[Maddy]  Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

[Yanderis] On a billboard ad in Times Square! My grand wish! ?
