Body Confidence – ANTM, Whitney Thompson Defends Tyra Banks and Poses Nude

America’s Next Top Model, Whitney Thompson defends Tyra Banks…

…for recent tiny-waisted ANTM preview and promotes Hollywood NOW’s 5th annual Love Your Body Day, Oct. 23rd in West Hollywood, by posing nude in recent photoshoot.

America’s Next Top Model, Whitney Thompson’s mentor, Tyra Banks, recently came under scrutiny when a trailer was released for the 15th season of “Top Model” where Banks is praising a contestant for having an extremely tiny waist. However plus size model and ANTM season 10 winner is coming to her defense.“Tyra supports women of all sizes as long as they are healthy. I do not fault her for her reaction to seeing such a tiny waist. She had a similar reaction to seeing Toccara’s enormous breasts. Tyra remains a leading figure in the fight for body equality in the fashion industry” says Thompson .

Whitney Thompson’s career as a plus size model has thrived since appearing on the show and winning the prestigious title of America’s Next Top Model in 2008.

Since then she has followed Tyra’s footsteps in promoting body equality in fashion. In line with this, Thompson is set to be the celebrity host of the Hollywood Chapter of the National Organizations for Women’s 5th annual Love Your Body Day on October 23, 2010 at the West Hollywood Park Auditorium.

In a recent photo shoot for Love Your Body Day, Thompson joined the event’s creator, Chenese Lewis, both proudly flaunting their curves in the nude with confidence.

They to signify that women of all colors, shapes and sizes are beautiful and show by example that women should love the skin they’re in. Both women further demonstrate their support of having a healthy view of oneself by supporting organizations seeking to helping individuals with eating disorders–Thompson an ambassador for the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) and Lewis an ambassador for the Binge Eating Disorder Association (BEDA).

“We are so excited to have Whitney as our celebrity host this year,” said Chenese Lewis, creator of Hollywood NOW’s Love Your Body Day. “Our picture together looks like a photoshoot from America’s Next Top Model! She makes loving your body fierce!”
