It’s the plus size editorial heard around the world, and people are still talking about it. “Plus Size Bodies, What’s Wrong With Them Anyway?” was a feature in the January 2012 issue of PLUS Model Magazine. The purpose of the shoot was to bring attention to the negativity surrounding the modeling industry and in particular, the plus size modeling industry.
When you have plus size agencies asking plus size models to get down to a size 6 or 8, there is a problem. Plus size bodies are already invisible in mainstream fashion, but are we losing our visibility in the plus size industry as well?
We wanted to shine the light on the big elephant in the room, and the world picked up on it and continues to debate, support and criticize our industry.
This morning we were told we made StyleGuru’s list of Most Controversial Photo Shoot’s. We are among names like Dolce and Gabbana, United Colors of Benetton and GUCCI.
