My fashion journey has been one of self-discovery. I grew up in the Pentecostal church and first granddaughter to a minister. Trendy clothing, makeup and shorter hair styles were not exactly part of what I grew up seeing around me.

After a failed marriage and renewed faith with a more modern thinking denomination, I began to really know who I was because I experimented with styles, colors, patterns and textures. Some of the styles were clearly very wrong for me, yet I’m proud I was able to find the confidence to free myself from what I knew, so I could find who I am supposed to be.

Our Fall Fashion Issue celebrates this freedom, the freedom to be who we are as women and using fashion to express ourselves. Fashion and great style is no longer only for the women with deep pockets and six figure salaries, but for everyone from school girls and stay-at-home moms, to the business women on the rise and retirees of the world. Even more exciting is the plus size clothing revolution; we have never had as many options as we do today. Everyone from Indie designers to new brands are opening their doors to plus size fashion and giving women more options than ever.

In this month’s issue, our fashion team went all out to bring fashion to your fingertips. Reah Norman, Executive Fashion Director; Marie Denee, Fashion and Style Editor; and newcomer to the PLUS Model Magazine family, Alissa Wilson, Shopping Editor display all the exciting trends for Fall Fashion. Also, new to the PMM team is actress and motivational speaker, Kendra C. Johnson. Kendra joins us as the new Empowerment Editor and will be traveling around the country speaking to women of all ages about loving themselves inside and out.

We are so happy to be able to feature so many brands in this month’s issue, especially Mynt 1792 whose debut during this year’s Full Figured Fashion Week. We also have Fall fashion from Miss Tina, Eloquii, Melissa Masse, Kmart LYS and many more!

Creating this issue has inspired me and I hope it does the same for you. Many thanks to everyone who collaborated on this issue, plus size fashion rocks!
