Preview of New Fashions For Full-Figured Women, Graffiti Art Auction To Benefit Nonprofit Ladydoves Self Enrichment Organization
YONKERS, N.Y. – Legendary graffiti artists, Lava I & II and Bama, will join Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano to help open the first Ashley Stewart store in Yonkers with local flair. Inspired by the Mayor’s recent YoLoGo Contest, Lava and Bama will unveil their takes on a Yonkers logo as part of the store’s Grand Opening celebration on October 26. Ashley Stewart will hang some of the original artwork on permanent display in the store for shoppers to enjoy and will donate some of the pieces for a fund-raising auction to benefit the Ladydoves Self Enrichment Organization that mentors area girls and women to enhance self-esteem.
In addition to the canvas graffiti artwork unveiling and the Mayor’s ribbon-cutting ceremony, Ashley Stewart will host a sassy fashion show with new looks for plus -sized women. Models will come from Unique Blend Models, a subsidiary of the non-profit Ladydoves Self Enrichment Organization. The local community is invited to join in the following entertaining events as part of a three-day public celebration at the new Ashley Stewart store in Yonkers Gateway Center on Central Park Avenue:
- Friday, October 26, 10 AM – Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano cuts a ribbon to open the new store and legendary graffiti artists, Lava I & II and Bama, unveil original artwork of sample Yonkers logos.
- Friday, October 26, 2 and 4 PM – Full-Figured Fall Fashion Show and Yonkers Graffiti Art Auction to benefit the Ladydoves Self Enrichment Organization. All models will come from the organization’s public service programs. As Ladydoves CEO Andrene Williams says, “We break the barrier. Beauty comes in all different shapes, sizes, and colors. And, when we come together, we blend beautifully!”
- Saturday, October 27, Noon – 4 PM – Block Party with “DJ Danny” and his dancers, raffle gift drawings.
- Sunday, October 28, 1-4 PM – Jazz Brunch with raffle gift drawings.
All events are free and open to the public.
