Too Small For Plus-Size Club

nightclubowner

Shadoe Grey is the founder of Club Curves in Los Angeles; a nightclub she opened in 1997 for plus-size patrons. After a few years her weight was at 350 pounds and she felt like her weight was affecting her health. Ms Grey decided to have gastric band surgery.

With the weight loss also came the loss of her job and she’s had to step down from her position. The plus size women she once championed for no longer wanted to see her in that position. In addition to her job she also lost friends and male companions.

Grey admits she continues to feel like she is a “big girl” at heart but realizes she is no longer marketable to plus size women at her size.

What are your thoughts? Should she have been forced out of her position at Club Curves?
