ChaCha N’Kole and DesignPhiladelphia have joined together to bring the first ever museum exhibition to highlight full-figured high-fashion as well as an original fashion short film produced jointly by ChaCha N’Kole and TsiTsi P. Productions. The event will be held at the University of Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, 3260 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, Sunday October 13, 2013 at 6pm.
C.U.R.V.V. stands for Creations Ultimately Redefining Views of Voluptuous Women and this initiative is doing just that with this exhibit and short film. This exhibit will consist of 12 handmade gowns inspired by the artwork currently on display at the University of Penn Museum, focusing mainly on the Egyptian sector of the museum.
The short film is about a plus-size model’s struggle to suppress insecurities while perusing her lifelong dream to be a successful model on the runway.
