Latino Fashion Week (LFW) is taking place this week in Chicago, IL from Tuesday, October 1 – Saturday, October 5.
According to their official website, LFW is the only full week event dedicated to Latino Fashion in the United States. LFW showcases top Latino designers from Central and South America, the Caribbean and the U.S. LFW is a great event that provides fashion designers and sponsors an opportunity to network and meet celebrities, music artists, media and others. LFW is not just a fashion show. It is a movement. “By Latinos, For Everyone.”
During LFW, there is going to be a great plus size event called the Love Your Curves Luncheon. Jessica Blair, owner of Blair Chic Boutique and also known as “Chicago’s Curvy Fashion Icon”, is involved with this event.
Jessica is all about promoting curves, style and confidence in the Chicago area. She definitely represents for the curvy Latinas and plus size women in general.
The luncheon will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Block Thirty Seven Mall-3rd Floor, Chicago, IL. Featured guests include the stars from the reality TV show Curvy Girls and celebrity emcees are Kate Sullivan and Mai Martinez from CBS. Besides the luncheon, there will be a runway show and three floors of fashion vendors. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online here.
It sounds like it is going to be an empowering and positive luncheon where curvy fashion and body confidence are celebrated. If you’re in the Chicago area this week, this is definitely an event you don’t want to miss.
