We reported a few months ago about Australian plus size model Natasha Fowler and her big win in the Curvy Couture Model Search held by Simone Pérèle and BGM Models

As the winner, Natasha would be featured in a national campaign for Simone Pérèle to promote their haute couture range for fuller busts called ‘Revelation’  and become their ‘Confidence Ambassador’ for 2014, using her profile to inspire young Australian women to embrace their bodies through social media and in-store workshops.

She also won a 2-year contract with Australia’s leading curvy modeling agency, BGM Models. Since signing with BGM, she has been attending castings and one in particular, inspired her to blog about it.

Last week, Natasha attended a major casting for the Melbourne Fashion Festival being held in March 2014. Plus size models were actually requested along with standard industry sized models, which is a wonderful thing. In her blog post, Natasha discusses how BGM models feel while attending castings with straight size models.

As she describes her experience, the last paragraph shows Natasha’s determination and confidence – further proof that she was worthy of her Curvy Couture Model Search win:

“I cleared my mind and put on my best strut for the panel. My trusty red boots did me proud. I left feeling poised, confident and I could not hide that twinkle of hope that maybe there are Australian designers out there looking for models with curves, designers who are willing to blur the line between straight and plus size models. Until then, myself and the other gorgeous BGM models will be out there riding the wave of change.”
