Every week, we will feature an outfit from a blogger that we think is worthy of a spotlight. This week, we’d like to introduce you to Ola Dipo of Road to Fashionable.
Ola is a plus size fashionista and blogger based in the DMV area, who caught our eye because of her beautiful fashion style that reads polished, bold and feminine. Ola has that elevated classic look and her confidence shows through what she wears. Ola does a great job of embracing trends while making them her own. It’s evident that Ola knows what looks well on her body as well as choosing colors and prints that pair well and styling her outfits with minimal yet eye-catching accessories.
As we mentioned last week, crop top sets are a HUGE trend this summer and there are sticking around for fall. Crop tops are not for just our thinner sisters anymore. Plus size women are taking fashion risks and being daring enough to rock a crop top. And they’re doing it flawlessly. As we wrote last week and it is well worth repeating… The crop top set is one of the most bold fashion statements that a plus size woman can make. It defies what society says we should wear and breaks so many fashion rules. How you wear a crop top set is essential and we love how Ola has styled hers.
We love how she shows just a little skin with her crop top set and added the black and white kimono jacket over it. The kimono print makes a statement on its own and paired with the subtle nude sandal, it’s perfect. The handbag adds that nice pop of color. This outfit is put together perfectly and looks chic and modern, showing that a crop top set can be classy, if styled correctly.
“There really is no definition to it. I wear what makes me feel beautiful and confident.”
Ola’s Fashion Tips For Summer and Beyond:
“Ignore the “rules”. Nobody has the authority to tell you what you should and should not wear. Fashion is self expressive and that’s what makes it a beautiful thing. So do not shy away from expressing yourself through fashion. Also, don’t lie to yourself. Clothing sizes are nothing but a number so do not cramp yourself into a size 14 dress when a size 18 dress might be the perfect fit. Get to know your body and when you do that, you will get to know what makes that body look as beautiful as it should be.”
