OneStopPlus Hosts Blogger Luncheon To Discuss Plus Fashion Industry Trends & More

Plus size fashion retailer OneStopPlus recently hosted a luncheon in New York City that gathered together an impressive group of bloggers and media to discuss plus size fashion industry trends, the future of the plus size market and future collaborations. PLUS Model Magazine was there and it truly felt like a meeting of “the minds”.

The luncheon, which took place at The Smith Lincoln Center, was co-hosted by celebrity fashion expert Cherie Christmas, who has joined the OneStopPlus team as their designer, as well as Nancy LeWinter, the brand’s editorial director. Top executives from the brand were also in attendance including OSP President Stephanie Sobel and OSP Vice President, General Brand Manager Frank Van Der Ree.

The luncheon was similar to a roundtable where each person was asked what inspires their style, what trends they love and what changes they would like to see in the industry. A few stated that street style was a huge fashion inspiration to them, some cited their moms as fashion inspirations, the topic of using visibly plus size models was discussed and creating the perfect fitting jean for plus size women. The issues with fit and accommodating women with larger calves in bottoms and boots were also talked about. It was a great conversation that was honest, frank and genuine. The OSP team was very attentive, taking notes and asking further questions about what is needed in the plus size fashion world.

We also got the opportunity to view items from the fall 2014 collections of Jessica London, Roaman’s and other brands available at OneStopPlus.com. There were lots of on-trend pieces such as denim moto jackets, faux leather detailing, prints and more.

We think this was a great start for OSP to interact with individuals from the plus size fashion industry and truly hear what the “customer” has to say. We’re excited to see what they have in store for future collections.
