Curves Were On The Runway at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week

Australian retailer TS14+ (formerly known as Taking Shape) celebrated curvy, stylish women yesterday by using plus size models on the runway for their show at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW).

melbourne spring fashion weekThe ready-to-wear collection consisted of three stories: Confident (day wear), Empowered (after dark) and Pretty Different (glamourous evening wear). There were on-trend geometric prints, cutouts, beautiful printed silks as well as Indian inspired embellished pieces, which took layering to a chic level. The usual black and white was included but there were also pops of vibrant colors such as neons, red, purple and yellow. TS14+ wanted to make a statement with their runway show and they did.

TS14+ spokeswoman Melanie Schwarz told The Sydney Morning Herald:

“We don’t talk about plus sizes. For us, it is about fashion being fun, individual and we style and dress women for their shape. Having curvy women fall in love with their shapes.”

And as a move to support local retailers, all of the collections will be available for purchase from those retailers.
