Hi PMM readers! PMM Associate Beauty Editor Marianne Meissner here…
I have to admit, it’s one of the most customizable services I’ve ever seen. There are a ton of beauty subscription services to choose from out there that range in prices and services, but Goodbeing is extremely unique in that it offers products that are not only good for you but also good for the environment. They represent brands that are actively reducing their carbon footprint and also pride themselves as being “green” for the environment.
What makes them even more so attractive to someone looking for a quality beauty subscription service is that they ask a ton of questions to get to know you to determine what products would be perfect for you. The questions run about 4 pages long and is more than than any service I’ve signed up for.
I personally can’t do much fragranced items and they have a category for that! They also have vegan, gluten-free and other allergy and dietary options to choose from. If you’re allergic to coconut, they’ve got you covered! You also fill out questions based on hair color and skin tone, because they do include all natural makeup in some boxes!
Here’s what I received in some of my boxes: I will be completely honest and say that I did receive a few items I didn’t like but that was only because I got the “no restrictions” boxes that was a mix of everything they offer with no caveats. The items I didn’t like were only because of the scent, so I made sure to return to my questionnaire and revise my answers to not get those products again.
I received an all-natural insect repellant that I NEEDED so badly! It was in the middle of the summer season and I was COVERED in mosquito bites. None of the all-natural sprays I tried were working. So that product arrived right on time.
I also received a dark chocolate mascara that I thought I was going to hate, but as soon as I opened it and tried it, I was hooked! It actually smells like chocolate and I wanted to eat it! I didn’t though, don’t worry!
There was also a body oil that I’ve already used completely because it nourished my skin so well.
The biggest item I was surprised about was the S.W. Basics cream that I featured in my beauty column in the November 2015 issue about skin care. I’ve wanted to try this product for SO long but wouldn’t fork out the $15 for the tiny bottle in the store. Thankfully, it was in the box so I got to try it and found out I love it!
There were some items that I would never have bought in the store and that’s why I love subscription-based services, because they get you out of your comfort beauty zone and are really affordable when wanting to try new products.
I might not have tried an all-natural deodorant on my own, but Goodbeing sent one to me, so I tried it! I would NEVER have bought dark chocolate mascara but it’s become a favorite in my “no makeup” routine. I understand that as a busy woman, it can seem daunting to change up your beauty and health routine. And most subscription-based services really miss the mark when it comes to the more experienced, holistic, busy woman who cares about the environment and wants quality versus quantity. But Goodbeing has impressed me on that front.
So, let’s talk about prices. While Goodbeing is more expensive than some of the other subscription-based services, I believe the quality of the products and the coupons you get to purchase full sized items is well worth it. That’s right… I forgot to mention that you receive actual coupons of the trial-sized items that are included on your monthly box, which offer impressive and competitive pricing/discounts.
You can subscribe to monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or yearly box services. You can also gift a subscription to a loved one, which is especially great for those hard-to-buy family members.
I’m also pleased to announce that Goodbeing has offered a giveaway to SIX of our readers!
