This Plus Size Brand Made Its Mark in Fashion in 2016

Often called the “Zara” of the plus size fashion world, 2016 was a groundbreaking year for Eloquii.

The contemporary plus fashion brand has been mentioned in the same sentences as Gucci, Chanel and other top designers when fashionistas speak of current fashion that they must have NOW.

From its re-launch almost three years ago to now, Eloquii has established itself as a brand that plus size fashionistas quickly cite as one of their favorite brands and for good reason.

With a tagline on Instagram as “Fashion for the style driven, fit obsessed customer“, we can see why Eloquii is loved by many. The brand not only focuses on delivering high-quality stylish pieces frequently (they refresh their offerings every few weeks) but are also listening to their customer when it comes to fit and doing its best to incorporate that into their pieces.

They’re not the only ones in love with Eloquii.

Celebrities such as Amber Riley, Rebel Wilson, Gabourey Sidibe, Danielle Brooks, Chrissy Metz and Carnie Wilson have all worn the brand on the red carpet, to TV interviews, on magazine covers and in fashion features.

Eloquii spent much of 2016, connecting with customers in a more personal way and expanding their offerings to cater to more of their customer’s needs.

They launched a contest with Carol’s Daughter this summer to find the next star for their Spotlight Series.

They dressed actress Aidy Bryant for the Emmys, taking us with them via social media in this exciting moment.

Gabourey Sidibe was seen wearing some of their styles on a few episodes of the hit show Empire on FOX.

They partnered with Stone Fox Bride on a line of plus size wedding dresses.

They used plus size bloggers of different sizes and shapes to feature in their 5X5 fashion feature, which challenges bloggers to style one Eloquii piece, five ways.

They’ve expanded the amount of styles available in sizes 26 and 28, still using visibly plus models such as Emmicia Bracey who was the star of their size 26/28 lookbook in Fall 2015.

However, the major moves they made this year were focused on fit. Eloquii first launched their petites capsule collection in September, featuring petite plus blogger Darlene Lebron of Suits, Heels & Curves in a 5×5 feature, focusing on styles from the collection.

They then launched their Viola Fit collection in late October, exclusively designed for a body shape with a hip measurement 1–2 sizes larger than the bust. Anna O’Brien of Glitter and Lazers was one of the women featured in the campaign.

The genius thing about the Viola Fit collection is that it includes their Kady pant, which is one of the brand’s popular styles.

The brand closed the year with a major holiday campaign titled “How Do You Do Holiday?“, inviting women to post their images on social media, tagging them #XOQ. The campaign was supported by features on their blog Style & Substance, showcasing a few bloggers, on how they do holiday, wearing Eloquii styles.

They also featured size 26/28 Canadian blogger Lisa of MustangSallyTwo in a holiday-themed 5×5 feature all about sequins.

From offering chic, on-trend pieces to showing diversity and listening to their customers on fit, we’re excited to see what Eloquii will offer us in 2017.

We’re sure it will be something fabulous. Cheers! We have our wallets and closets ready.
