Word on the Street: Torrid’s Little Sister is Saying Goodbye

It seems Torrid is not “lovesick” over its little sister brand anymore.

Imagine our surprise, when we visited the Lovesick website this week and saw this:

WOW! That was fast! The brand just launched last summer in a major way, tapping Jordyn Woods to be their brand ambassador. To say we’re disappointed is an understatement.

We wanted more information on this sudden development so we checked their Facebook page, where we were even more confused to see the brand state it’s “taking a break”.

From what we have heard, it seems that Torrid will be absorbing the brand into its website and stores, maintaining the brand but not keeping it as a separate business. However, this has not been confirmed by Torrid at this time.

We reached out to Torrid for an official statement and this is what a spokesperson told us:

“We are putting our Lovesick business on pause for now, but TORRID looks forward to continuing to assist stylists and editors.”

We’re sad to see Lovesick go as it was marketed towards a younger demographic while still offering up to a size 5 and 26. Other “younger” brands stop at a size 3X and 24 so Lovesick was a brand that set itself apart from the others. I guess we shall see what happens.

However, for now, don’t miss your chance to score some styles during Lovesick’s Going Out of Business sale. Everything sitewide is marked down 20% – 40% off. Click here to shop.
