First, Project Runway… then, JC Penney… then, plus size patterns with Simplicity, and now plus size jewelry. Ashley Nell Tipton continues to tap into underserved markets and we love her for it!
The plus size fashion designer launched her first-ever jewelry line this week, which is geared towards plus size women seeking larger jewelry on a budget.
Who doesn’t love accessories? And now they’re accessible to women who are looking for larger sizes.
As plus size women, we struggle with not only finding great fit in clothing, but in accessories too. Tipton recognizes that and we applaud her for taking the initiative in designing affordable accessories in larger sizes.
Just as she did with her JC Penney line and with her Simplicity patterns, the designer is again catering to an underserved market and ensuring that not only are items accessible by size but also available to women who are shopping on a budget.
The new collection consists of 12 pieces, which includes necklaces, chokers, rings and bracelets priced from $9.99 to $24.99.
Rings run up to a size 14 (!), some necklaces have a 5″ extender and we even noticed that the stretch bracelet fits up to a 9″ wrist.
We’re loving the delicateness and luxe feel of the jewelry pieces. Some pieces have a trendy vibe while some have a fun vibe. Chokers have now become such a big trend so we were excited to see that Tipton included them in her new line.

We’re excited to see where this could lead for Tipton and the overall accessory offerings for plus size women. I personally cannot wait to see fanny packs that fit hips over 50″ and purses with larger straps to accommodate large upper arms. What do you think, Ashley? **Hint, hint**
