Age Diversity Still Has A Long Way To Go In The Fashion Industry – Ageless Style Series
With 70 percent of women represented in mass media being in their 20’s and 30’s it’s easy to understand why growing older seems like doom to most women.
Growing older is truly a gift, which should be cherished.
Nothing is more beautiful than a confident woman who truly loves herself as she embraces the many aspects that come with this journey.
Unfortunately, as we get older the messages that women face are daunting… older women can’t wear bright colors, “youthful” trends, short skirts and the list goes on and on.
My first feature, in this six-month series, focuses on those very comments that “we” as older women have to face.
Style is truly ageless and with age comes, even more, self-confidence and self-worth. This month I collaborated with Lisa Scott, who has been a professional plus-sized model for over 25 years. She graced the cover of magazines and has numerous campaigns under her belt and endless clients but most of all, she’s aged with grace while embracing her fashion aesthetic.
