What is on your bucket list?
Oh man, there are so many things! I definitely want to travel outside of North America, I want to go to all the EDC’s, I want to have my own clothing line, and I’ve actually always wanted to be on the cover of a magazine. I literally spoke it into existence at the beginning of this year. So I can check that off!
What item in your closet do you wear the most?
I have a black sleeveless jersey body-con dress that I’ve worn about 50 different ways – ha-ha – it’s so easy!
What song puts you in a good mood?
Hmmm, there are about a million songs that give me the feel goods, but I currently have Be There by Krewella on repeat. They’re one of my fav duos.
Who was your first blog client?
The first brand to ever take a chance on me was Fashion to Figure. My blog was about 6 months old and I only had 7000 followers and they reached out. I was honestly about to just give up because I didn’t really know what I was doing. It blew me away because my blog was still so new so what would they want with me, ya know? It was at that point I realized I had something here and it motivated me to keep going and creating content. I’m forever grateful for them.
TV – Guilty Pleasures (What are you watching on repeat)
Okay so… I’m a ride or die Jersey Shore fan. I have seen every episode at least 20 times and this new season is just as exciting. I love all their shenanigans. Also the Kardashians. I live and breathe KUWTK. I will never get tired of that show and I was psyched that it was greenlit for 5 more seasons – hahahaha!
What has been your biggest splurge?
I typically spend all my money on food (who doesn’t) ha-ha, but this year I’ve been uncharacteristically impulsive and if I want something I just get it. So lately it’s been music. I’ve spent more on concerts and music festivals this year than rent probably… at least it feels that way. The entire month of May I attended a concert or festival and I have at least 2/month lined up for the rest of year. I’m so excited!
One thing most people don’t know…
I’m a thespian! I absolutely LOVE performing arts! Acting, singing, dancing, all of it! In high school I was senior President of Drama Club, I was on the dance team and in choir all through Jr. High. I’ve been in a ton of plays and musicals and I live for show tunes! My favorite musicals are Chicago and Hairspray. My dream roles are the parts that Queen Latifah plays in both films.
Greatest gift you have ever received.
Definitely my mother’s support. Not just now, but also all throughout my life. No matter what I did, what crazy idea I had or wild aspirations, she’s always been there cheering me on and figuring out how to make it happen. She gave me the freedom to be me, to let me discover the world and learn things the hard way. It was just she and I until she met my stepdad when I was 14, so she is literally my rock. To have her say she’s proud of who I’m becoming means the world.
3 things you never leave home without.
My cellphone, a pack of gum, travel setting spray.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
My dad’s dad always gives the best advice. One of the things he’s said that applies to every aspect of my life is to always move with integrity and authenticity because at the end of the day your character will always speak louder than any rumor or gossip that’s said about you. That’s always stuck with me and especially now in this industry where it’s easy to get caught up in the hype. Those words keep me grounded, aligned and focused.
