Just in Case You Missed It: This Must-See Movie About Body Image is Back!

Fattitude The Movie is BACK!

The film, that centers on the important topic of fat phobia, has been having screenings in the US for the last few months.

This time around, the people behind this must-see movie are partnering with author and activist Virgie Tovar, who will be making a special appearance at the NYC screening on August 23rd.

So if you missed the NYC screening last fall, here’s a second chance to see this important movie and meet Tovar, whose latest book titled “You Have the Right to Remain Fat” is set to be released on August 14th. Attendees will get a discount on Tovar’s book, which will be for sale at the screening.

The film examines how popular culture perpetuates the fat hatred and fat-shaming that results in a very real cultural bias and a civil rights issue for people who are living in fat bodies.

Fattitude is the brain-child of filmmakers Lindsey Averill and Viridiana Lieberman. Informed by a social justice background, Fattitude is very conscious and attentive to the idea that fat hatred crosses the lines of race, class, sexuality and gender.

The screening will take place at:
