Target Continues to Expand on Its Plus Size Style Assortment with Two New Brands

Target is becoming a fashion mecca.

After launching four new brands last fall and then launching their own denim-inspired brand Universal Thread earlier this year, they are taking it a step further with the launch of two new brands that each cater to distinctive customer segments that are both underserved.

The two new brands Prologue and Wild Fable are right on time for the fall season, both offering styles that are current and affordable.

Prologue is geared towards the modern career woman, with a luxe, chic take on workwear that’s taking on retailers such as NY & Company, Eloquii and Rachel Roy and giving them a run for their money. Target’s prices are significantly lower and the styles are available in straight sizes and plus sizes up to 4X. The retailer describes the brand as “styles that are forever, yet forward“.

With Wild Fable, Target is going after the younger set and while there are plenty of brands out there who offer styles to that demographic such as Forever 21, Charlotte Russe and Wet Seal, Wild Fable’s styles don’t read “fast fashion” and again, they are offering up to a size 4X, which many other fast fashion brands are not.

Here’s what you need to know about Wild Fable and Prologue:

Wild Fable is giving us that 90’s grunge vibe with an edgy feel but yet most of the pieces are mainstay trends that will be around for a while. With almost 200 styles in up to size 4X, as low as $4 for a basic tank to as high as $38 for a faux leather moto jacket, Target is really leveraging the playing field in providing current trends in a wide range of sizes, at an affordable price point.

Prologue is simply gorgeous. There’s suiting, versatile separates, luxe looking fabrics and let’s not even talk about the draping and construction! For the prices that Target has set for these styles, $14.99 for a v-neck tank top to $44.99 for a faux leather fit and flare midi dress, this brand is worthy of a test run, especially if you’re looking for office looks on a budget.

We’re excited for what’s to come with these two new brands at Target as well as the other brands that each offer their own signature assortment to plus size women up to a size 4X:
