Rent The Runway Aims To Spotlight Amazing Everyday Women with New Campaign

Rent The Runway aims to celebrate women and give back to them this holiday season.

The online designer fashion rental service announced today (12/4) that they’re partnering with Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness to launch the Fairy Godmother Challenge.

The goal of this social and charitable campaign is to encourage women to nominate other women who they feel are deserving of a year of Rent the Runway Unlimited, the brand’s monthly subscription that gives women access to a curated collection of designer clothes and accessories. The challenge will take place starting today through December 20th.

According to the official press release:

“Participants can nominate a friend or family member by posting a photo of them on Instagram
using the hashtag #FairyGodmothered, with a caption explaining why their nominee deserves to win the challenge. For every Fairy Godmother Challenge nomination, Rent the Runway will make a donation to Dress for Success, an organization helping women thrive in work and in life.

Nominees will be announced every week on Rent the Runway’s Instagram Story and final winners will be notified via Instagram direct message. All participants must tag and follow @renttherunway on Instagram to be considered for the challenge.”

Van Ness is serving as the official Fairy Godmother of the challenge, and will surprise one lucky challenge winner during the campaign. He said:

“I’m thrilled to be a modern-day Fairy Godmother with Rent the Runway for such an incredible
cause, recognizing deserving women across the country with 100 years of RTR Unlimited. The Fairy Godmother Challenge will transform lives and inspire confidence; both of which I’m passionate about.”

Rent the Runway Co-Founder and CEO Jennifer Hyman added:

“With The Fairy Godmother Challenge, we are encouraging participants across the country to
recognize a deserving woman in their life by nominating them. We’re thrilled to give 100 women a year of RTR Unlimited, providing them with incredible clothes and accessories, while further helping those in need through our charity partner, Dress for Success.”

Rent the Runway wants to use this campaign as a way to highlight those that go above and beyond for their families and communities because they’d like to further show their passion for uplifting women by providing them an opportunity for a fresh start.
