“Fears are nothing more than a state of mind.” — Napoleon Hill
Fear is a nasty emotion. It can be a crippling state of mind. And, completely worthless when trying to achieve your dreams. Is there a simple solution for conquering your fears? No, but what is easy in life? Yet, I have a sneaky suspicion that you are completely up for the challenge. Let’s talk about it!
Fears shouldn’t be treated like a dirty little secret or something to hide deep within yourself. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Do the thing you fear and the death of fear is certain.” If you want to conquer your fears, you must tackle them head on.
Have you ever created SMARTgoals for yourself? Ever create them to tackle your fears? When you write your goals, they become more real and attainable. If you create a detailed action plan that details what you need to do on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis then you have a road map to help you slay those fear furiously and completely.
When working towards a goal you will face obstacles. This should never surprise or derail you from your goal. We owe it to ourselves to stay committed to our goals no matter what. Every time you fall, you must get up. On a bad day, don’t shame yourself about dealing with the struggle. Acknowledge why you are struggling, identify the solution, apply it, and keep moving forward.
It is much easier to achieve your goals when you have a supportive tribe around you. When you tackle your fears or a big change in your life, you need to surround yourself with people who will do the following:
Hold you accountable
Motivate you to keep moving forward
Encourage you when you face obstacles or challenges
Join your path of change and transformation
Anyone who wants to challenge you, stand in your way, or ridicule you for your goals needs to get out of your way (no matter who they are).
#6 Celebrate Every Victory (No Matter How Small or Large)
Every time you have a victory you need to celebrate it. Everything from waking up to accomplishing one item on your to-do list is a victory. The more you celebrate these positive events, the more excited you will be to win again. Plus, it is a clear sign to the universe that you are ready to have more opportunities to win. Not to mention, you will have less time to focus on negative thoughts or destructive habits like self-doubt, insecurity, or self-loathing. How could this ever be wrong?
