Betsey Johnson Launches Plus Size Capsule Collection with Dia&Co

Add one more straight size fashion designer to the plus size fashion collaborative world.

Plus size retail service Dia&Co today announced the launch of an exclusive capsule collection with beloved fashion designer, Betsey Johnson.

Yes, you read right. Betsey Johnson!

This capsule collection is classic Betsey Johnson. While it’s only 5 styles, we’re hoping this does so well that Johnson will design more in plus sizes.

This is Johnson’s first foray into creating a collaboration with a plus size brand and her collection with Dia&Co features her signature style and trademark prints including cherry, floral and lip designs.

Dia&Co CEO and co-founder Nadia Boujarwah said in an official statement:

“Betsey Johnson is a fashion icon whose vibrant, whimsical style is instantly recognizable. At their core, Dia&Co and Betsey have a shared vision — creating a space for women to be unapologetically colorful and bold, where everyone can express themselves through style. We are so excited to partner with Betsey on this collection and bring her trademark style to our community.”

Johnson added:

“This new collection includes my favorite shapes in my five most favorite prints. The inspiration is classic! I loved partnering with Dia&Co because they ‘get you.’ They want their pieces to feel really good…it’s all about the feel. Every woman should feel fabulous whatever size they are. I love to design for women of all sizes because they are beautiful and they always will be.”

Dia&Co’s Betsey Johnson capsule collection will be available exclusively at dia.com. Items are available in sizes 14 – 24, and all are priced under $100.

We hope Johnson will also be open to expanding on her sizing as Dia&Co offers up to size 32 in many of their styles. Her plus sizes via Macy’s only go up to size 22W, which equals a size 24 on her size chart.

It seems that would depend on the success of this first capsule collection to show proof that plus size women do want to wear designer labels AND that plus sizes do not stop at a size 24.
