Word on the Street: Jason Wu to Launch Women’s Capsule Collection For Kohl’s

Jason Wu continues to bring his design aesthetic to mainstream fashion.

This time, the globally-renowned designer is heading over to leading mega-retailer Kohl’s, where he is set to launch an exclusive, limited-edition women’s apparel capsule for Holiday 2019.

Having partnered with designers such as Vera Wang and Lauren Conrad on collections to sell in their stores and online, Kohl’s recent announcement of their partnership with Wu makes sense for Holiday.

Fans of the designer know that he calls on classic Hollywood glamour as his inspiration and this collection will be no different. His holiday exclusive designs for Kohl’s will be available this November and will feature signature pieces for holiday dressing, including dresses, jumpsuits and jackets.

Kohl’s is definitely stepping its assortment game up to compete with Target and Walmart who are giving them a run for its money with its new stylish in-house brands that offer up to sizes 4X (Target) and 5X (Walmart).

Kohl’s recently launched EVRI to enhance their present offerings for plus size women and strengthen their position as a destination for the plus size shopper.

Doug Howe, Kohl’s chief merchandising officer said in an official statement:

“We look for exciting ways to surprise and delight both our current and new customers with new offerings for their wardrobe that they can only get at Kohl’s. It’s an honor to partner with Jason Wu to bring his signature aesthetic of modern sophistication to Kohl’s in a one-of-a-kind women’s holiday capsule. We know our customers are looking for stylish, quality outfitting at a great value and what better way to celebrate the holiday season than with the incredible designs from Jason Wu.”

Wu expressed his excitement with working with Kohl’s:

“I am excited to bring my designs to the Kohl’s customer and give her beautifully designed pieces that will add dimension to her wardrobe. My inspiration for the capsule comes from classic Hollywood glamour – elegant pieces that are perfect for any festive occasion.”

We love it when high-end fashion designers partner with mainstream retailers as it gives every day budget-conscious women an opportunity to have access to designer clothing in a one-stop shop environment that they can easily shop at.

The big question is… will this collection include plus sizes? Wu is no stranger to the plus size fashion world, having partnered with Eloquii on two capsule collections.

The answer is… we don’t know.

No mention of sizing as of yet, so keep your eyes peeled to the blog as more details are released.

Previous collections from Kohl’s have included plus sizes so we’re hopeful that this one will too.
