I don’t think I’ve ever owned as many two-piece swimsuits as I do right now.
It’s truly something amazing to be able to face your hangups about what you think your body should look like and just love the skin you’re in. For this, I credit the countless beauties of ALL sizes who have shared their stories and posted them on their blogs and social media. I often tell these women (and men) how much their stories mean to me because I believe telling people how they have affected you is how we celebrate body positivity and our community.
With this being said, this month we are celebrating the people in the industry that have helped to open doors for others…
Models Liris Crosse and Rah Mosley have long been inspired by Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford for opening up the doors in the high fashion industry for models of color. Similarly, Liris has done the very same thing in the plus size industry. Most recently, she won the model portion of Project Runway’s Season 16, the first season that plus size models were included during the entire season. This, along with her modeling boot camps, her recently published book and television appearances, has made her one of the most influential models in our industry.
She and Rah joined forces for this very special photo shoot by iconic photographer Tarrice Love as an ode to the models they credit for inspiring them in their careers.
