Independent designers are the backbone of the fashion industry.

They are the ones who create fashion and trends. They’re not afraid to express themselves via their designs and create wearable works of art.

Many indie designers have also embraced size inclusivity and design for all sizes. And Portland-based indie designer Claire Doody of Copper Union wants to celebrate those designers with her annual event Knock Out

Back for its third year, Knock Out is celebrating body positivity and all things fashion.

Doody brings together industry-leading plus size indie fashion designers, models and community leaders at her event, celebrating fashion and its impact on size inclusivity and body positivity.

The must-attend event features a fierce, attitude-infused runway show highlighting seven independent fashion brands with a diverse set of models.

A pop-up shop gives attendees the opportunity to shop the runway, as well as discover new artists, designers, and makers from the Pacific Northwest area and beyond.

Special guest speaker Sonalee Rashatwar (@thefatsextherapist), who is a queer non-binary clinical social worker, sex therapist and fat activist, will kick off the event as the keynote speaker.

Writer and fat activist Kim Selling (@croptopgoth) will host the event. Other planned highlights include a body positive dance troupe performance, raffle drawings, music and more.
