5 Things to be Grateful for During the Holiday Season

A few things to be grateful for during the holiday season…

It’s that time of year again. As people prepare for tasty Thanksgiving dinner and shopping deals for Christmas, it is important to focus on what matters most. No matter how busy or stressed you may get during the holiday season, remember the importance of gratitude. Like Oprah, I subscribe to saying thank you to the universe and thinking and writing down three things I am grateful for every day. When thinking about gratitude, I believe there are five things you can be grateful for each year during the holiday season. Let’s discuss…

#1 Waking Up

If you are reading this, you have already won for the day. You are alive, taking the time to read, connect with the Plus Model Magazine platform, and enhance your life. Waking up isn’t a guarantee. It is up to you to make the most of the day. Whatever you do or don’t do is completely under your control. You are awake. Be grateful for the life in your body and decide how amazing the day will be.

#2 Personal Passions

Humans are fascinating creatures. We are multidimensional with many different passions and talents. This is something to be deeply grateful for. If you are like me, you embrace this reality and incorporate time in your calendar to pursue these passions. I am an avid reader, writer, podcaster, and content creator. Please share in the comments what are your passions and why you are grateful for them?

#3 The Universe Has Your Back

Gabrielle Bernstein wrote the incredible book The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith, and it is a book that I recommend to others as much as I can. Seriously, it is a really great book to read. Why? Most people don’t believe the universe is there to support their life and future success. Like Tony Robbins said, “life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you.” You are in the driver’s seat of your life. You have always been there, and you will always be there. The minute you accept this as your reality, you should have a sense of empowerment and determination on the inside. Coupled with the idea that the universe is working for you not against you, suddenly it is clear how much you play a role in your own success.

#4 Growth & Development

My life motto is to meet someone new and learn something new each day. I want to learn and grow every day I am alive. After 365 days, I will be a more knowledgeable, skilled, and enhanced person compared to who I was a year ago. This is something I am grateful to do and achieve with the help of the library, social media, Amazon, and the internet. During the holiday season, when you are not shopping, cooking, or eating, it is the perfect time to sign up for a course, read a blog, watch an educational YouTube video, or anything else productive.

#5 Power of Choice

How YOU spend the holidays is completely up to YOU. This holiday season (and all year long) you have the power to decide:

  • How much you spend
  • How much food you cook (or order)
  • Where you spend the holidays
  • Who you spend time with
  • What you discuss (and don’t discuss)

Whether these decisions are easy or not, the decision is completely up to you. Be grateful for this choice and act in a way that makes you feel happy and fulfilled this holiday season. Life is too short not to enjoy every day (especially during the holidays)!
