Former plus size model McGevna has been working in digital media for more than a decade with a specialty in fashion, film and television. She also designed her own clothing line in 2013 called TwentyFour20 Designs. She has worked for media outlets such as People Magazine and FOX News.
The new mom is now the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for Essence Magazine, having previously worked as the Editorial Director for HelloBeautiful and Vice President of Women’s Lifestyle Brands at Interactive One. Throughout these roles, one thing was clear… McGevna is passionate about celebrating and honoring women of color in her work while also highlighting major topics in the media such as lack of representation and diversity in the media and Hollywood.
