6 Reasons Why You Should Join TikTok

Why You Should Join TikTok…

“Unless you open yourself up to trying new things, you can’t find what you love.” – Anonymous

During COVID-19, I joined TikTok and I have truly LOVED content creation in a whole new way. After creating new content for my blog and podcast, I wanted to share 6 huge reasons you should join the platform today!

Check out the PLUS Model Mag TikTok!

#1 Digital Connection

So many of us are feeling very alone and separated from our loved ones during COVID-19. I find myself practically living on the internet. Especially, since going outdoors excessively is not the best thing to do at the moment. If you too are online a lot, why not join a community like TikTok, where you can connect with folks around the globe creating videos that will make you think, smile, dance, and hysterically laugh?

#2 Content Creators Haven

As a content creator, I find it is important to continuously work on enhancing my skills and exploring new outlets for content development. After hearing the incredible Gary Vaynerchuk talk about TikTok over and over again, I knew I too had to join the cool kids on the platform. Have I convinced you to join as well?

#3 Body Positivity is Alive and Well

As a plus size woman, it warms my heart to see other plus size women living their best lives in person and online. If you too would like to embrace other women celebrating their bodies and enjoying the skin they are in, you will love seeing women like Lizzo, GlitterandLazers, Ese Milan, Virginie Grossat, Kalina Kuli, Kat Stroud, Nikki G, Jasmine Jones, Aby, and Stephanie Yeboah on the platform.

#4 Daily Laughter

I am a firm believer that daily laughter is a must for a happy life. According to HelgGuide.org, “[l]aughter strengthens your immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects you from the damaging effects of stress. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hope, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert. It also helps you release anger and forgive sooner.” If you want more laughter in your daily routine, TikTok will deliver the laughter you need every single day.

#5 Self-Development

There is so much about yourself that you do not know yet. No matter how young or old you are, there is something new to discover about yourself and what you want to accomplish in life. Human beings learn through experience. When we go out into the world and try something new, we learn more about ourselves and others in those eye-opening experiences. You will not know how you feel about the platform until you try it out. Be brave and have fun!

#6 Stress Relief

Stress is dangerous. People need to take precautions and protect themselves from COVID-19. But we cannot ignore the health ramifications of the daily stress we experience in life.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, “[c]oping with the impact of chronic stress can be challenging. Because the source of long-term stress is more constant than acute stress, the body never receives a clear signal to return to normal functioning. With chronic stress, those same lifesaving reactions in the body can disturb the immune, digestive, cardiovascular, sleep, and reproductive systems. Some people may experience mainly digestive symptoms, while others may have headaches, sleeplessness, sadness, anger, or irritability. Over time, continued strain on your body from stress may contribute to serious health problems, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and other illnesses, including mental disorders such as depression or anxiety.”

If you want to reduce the stress in your life, you have to actually do something about it. I feel very blessed to stay creating TikTok videos for my blog and podcast has provided immense joy, excitement, and stress relief. I wake up early excited to consume other TikTok content while producing my own.

So, I have to ask…
