We Asked These Fabulous Influencers to Share Their Personal Style… This is What They Had to Say!

Lane Bryant kicked off 2021 with a major size expansion that has the plus-size fashion industry buzzing.

It was a significant move that did not go unnoticed by many, who spied select items available in up to size 38/40 in early January. The number of items available up to size 40 has expanded in February.

We reached out to Lane Bryant for more information on this exciting news and this is what they shared with us:

  • They used women sizes 30 to 40 as Size Set Models within their Fit Panel, created specifically to ensure impeccable fit and comfort in each garment.
  • Lane Bryant will offer expanded sizes in LIVI activewear as well as select apparel pieces exclusively at LaneBryant.com.
  • Cacique Intimates, Lane Bryant’s exclusive intimate apparel brand, will also offer expanded sizes: Band sizes will be available in sizes 34-54; Cup sizes B-K.  Select Cacique panties and sleepwear will be available in sizes 12-36

The brand, which has been around since 1904, has been a staple go-to shopping spot for many plus size women looking for everything from jeans and activewear to career wear and intimates. And now Lane Bryant is listening to the needs of all their customers and expanding sizes in a substantial way.

We reached out to Emily, Joyniece, and Miranda to chat style and what they are loving at Lane Bryant right now.

When it comes to my style, comfort is QUEEN! Whether I’m dressing up or dressing down, I always try to meet the perfect intersection between fashion and function. Stretchy, breathable fabrics and effortlessly chic pieces with lots of visual interest help elevate my go-to classic silhouettes. For example, I paired the Knit Kit Pull-On Wide-Leg Capri Pant in Small Stretch Dot with the Convertible Off-The-Shoulder Chambray Top for an easy-breezy Parisian look. I completed the look with gold accessories to compliment my skin tone, comfy black Dream Cloud Slip-On Sneakers and a pink knotted headband for flirty flair.

I describe my personal style as “cozy classic.”  Comfort has always been a top priority for me, but I want to look great too!  I was drawn to this grey Livi Active top because while it’s technically activewear and great for my daily walks, it’s comfy enough to act as loungewear and polished enough for a Zoom call too! I’m so thrilled that Lane Bryant has expanded its size range to be inclusive of larger sizes.  As someone who has fluctuated in size and always hovered at or around the top of the size range, it feels incredible to be able to wear any piece offered even if it’s not stretchy and to be able to size up when needed.

“Classic silhouettes, pops of color, and comfort are three of the most important aspects of my personal style. This tiered jersey maxi dress has a lot of elements that I love: my favorite shade of blue, super soft fabric, options to layer, and of course: pockets. While I’m a big fan of sequins, sparkle, and bold prints, much of my day-to-day wardrobe consists of items just like this dress because of their versatility across seasons, occasions, and the ability to accessorize.”

In the past, Lane Bryant was the only shopping option for plus-size women. While other stores have now emerged on the scene, for those of us who grew up shopping at Lane Bryant with our mothers, grandmothers, and aunts, this size expansion is very personal and exciting.
