Maddy’s Interview with Meaghan…

Maddy: For those that are not NEW to the world of Meaghan O’Connor can you tell them a little about yourself?

Meaghan: HI! Everyone can learn a lot when they tune in & listen to episode ONE on September 8th! BUT, until then here’s a bit about me: I come from a large Irish Catholic family, so family & faith are a huge part of who I am. I am a proud Aunt, my nieces Sienna and Vivien are my everything – they are the coolest kids & I love being able to do life with them! I love to travel, take an adventure, hop in the car and go on a random road trip. I think those experiences, making memories, and creating moments are the ones that count the most! I love the beach, wine, coffee & Disney! I really enjoy making people laugh & I do my best to bring positive, happy energy wherever I go. I work as a fashion stylist & digital content creator (and now Podcast Host!) & I love that my job allows me to help others use fashion as a form of self-expression!

Maddy: We definitely bonded on our love of fashion… but I think our work relationship grew into a friendship based on our time spent together… what are your thoughts?

Meaghan: I have a hard time remembering the exact moment we met- I know it was during a Full Figured Fashion Week event or something, but what I do remember is how highly people spoke of you and with such respect! I think that’s really telling, and I knew we would be connected in some way, at some point. What I didn’t know is how much fun we would have working together and how much our friendship would evolve over time. I’m grateful for being placed in a moment in time that allowed our paths to cross the way they did! So grateful.

Maddy: So why a podcast and what can people expect from Gratitude In Style?

Meaghan: I think a podcast is a really interesting way to connect to people. It’s unexpectedly personal, & I really appreciate that it’s not a passive way of consuming content like some material is these days – it’s a choice for someone to listen to a podcast. And that choice will hopefully allow us a chance to connect with new people in a fun, happy, positive, and interesting way! People can expect JOY from this podcast! Happiness & joy & fashion & fun, and of course tools tips tricks & more about living a life of gratitude!

Maddy: We put this project on hold because of the pandemic and now here we are. What have you learned during this process?

Meaghan: I truly believe in the concept that “everything happens for a reason”. Especially with the timing of this podcast. Launching this podcast now, after the last 18 months + of the pandemic, has really allowed me to have a whole different perspective on everything! And, in turn, be more grateful- for it all. From the bad to the good- every moment that has led to this has been a learning lesson and part of a bigger journey and I am so thrilled to finally be here!

Maddy: We always do this at the end of each episode… so let’s do it here too!
What are you grateful for?
What’s in style?

Meaghan: YES! My favorite way to celebrate life is to actively find something to be grateful for every day, so it’s really fun that we have incorporated this into every episode of the podcast! I hope it inspires others to find their daily moment of gratitude!  Today I am grateful for THIS PODCAST and the opportunity to share this new journey Maddy & I are on with all of you.

What’s In Style for me right now is having patience. It can be really challenging to remain calm, to stay still & allow the plans to unfold in their own time – in both life and business. I think we all learned that this past year! And to now be on the other side, finally able to celebrate our patience in getting this podcast up & running is a really beautiful thing.  Patience is a virtue, and that to me is really IN STYLE!

Meaghan’s Interview With Maddy

Gratitude In Style... Welcome To Our September Issue!

Meaghan: For those that are NEW to the world of Madeline Jones can you tell them a little about yourself?

Maddy: Let’s see… I’m a passionate Libra, mom to a beautiful pre-teen young lady, wife, sister, and entrepreneur. My business partner (Valery Amador) and I own and operate PLUS Model Magazine and I’ve been advocating for my daughter and all children on the Autism spectrum for many years. I bloomed into my fashion aesthetic later in life and like many of us went through those phases… goth, boho, and what was I thinking? lol, I’m a cheerleader for people, period! You don’t have to be in my “circle” for me to want to help or support you.

Meaghan: We definitely bonded on our love of fashion… but I think our work relationship grew into a friendship based on our time spent together… what are your thoughts?

Maddy: I have to say that working for this long in any industry is a blessing, with that being said I have faced many challenges and challenging people along the way. One thing that has remained the same is my appreciation for people who love life, find the silver lining, and bring joy into the room. To me, this was how I always feel when I’m with you. Even when we are faced with challenges on ANY project we have worked on you have handled it with kindness and grace. I believe our bond was very organic and it grew over the course of many years until one day we realized how aligned we are in LIFE as well as in business.

Meaghan: So why a podcast and what can people expect from Gratitude In Style?

Maddy: My experience in the podcast world was limited to self-help and meditation… YOU definitely opened my eyes to how a podcast could amplify our message of Gratitude. Gratitude In Style will be a public look into our everyday normal conversations… This is truly us opening up what we already have been doing. Of course, we are wearing makeup and are doing it in front of cameras now but it’s about bringing kindness, positivity, goodness & style to anyone who will watch or listen.

Meaghan: We put this project on hold because of the pandemic and now here we are. What you have learned during this process?

Maddy: The ongoing pandemic has changed us all but last year in particular was very tough. Watching people, businesses and the world face such an uncertain future was honestly frightening. When we finally decided it was time to launch GIS I realized how committed I was to this new chapter in our life. Nothing about this was easy, and I personally was facing some issues as we were filming that brought me to that fork in the road. I chose us, our future, and our commitment to putting Gratitude in the world and I don’t regret it.

Meaghan: We always do this at the end of each episode… so let’s do it here too!
What are you grateful for?

Maddy: I’m grateful for this opportunity to embark on this journey with you. I have to thank everyone who has ever supported me because without our “people” this would not be possible.

Meaghan: What’s in style?

Maddy: Stepping out of your comfort zone is IN STYLE! I’m watching so many people walk in their journey and it’s so wonderful to see this happening.
