Being Good to Your Body

I definitely came into my appreciation for wellness late in life.

Being Good to Your Body

As a plus-size person, I did not feel comfortable going to the gym because I did not feel like I belonged and honestly I did not want to be stared at. As years have passed brands, wellness influencers and plus-size celebrities like our cover model Whitney Thor have made great strides in normalizing movement, working out, and wellness in the plus-size space.

For me it’s been a life-changer, I did not know how much my body and mind were connected until I started working out regularly with a trainer who specializes and works with plus-size clientele. Do we still have plenty of people who will feel we are advocating diet culture? Absolutely. But the important part here is that WE know that we are not advocating it, rather we are celebrating our bodies by being good to it in the way we choose to honor it.

This month we will be sharing stories from plus-size wellness advocates and how they came to embrace their bodies through movement.

Don’t forget to follow my new podcast Gratitude In Style, we will also be speaking about wellness in a future episode.
