FFF Week Creator & Executive Producer Gwen Devoe Talks FFF Week 2014 In PLUS Model Magazine’s Latest Issue
Annually for the last six years, plus size women have counted the days until Full Figured Fashion Week (FFF Week). FFF Week is our version of that other fashion week that many plus fashionistas love to attend and keep up with but always felt there was something missing because plus size fashion wasn’t visible on the runway. This is what inspired Gwen Devoe to create FFF Week, which has been going strong ever since.
Every June, plus size fashionistas, bloggers, media, retailers, designers, models, photographers and others descend onto New York City for this week-long event where you can attend not only runway shows but panel discussions, a shopping event, a networking event, an all-white cruise, a fitness class and more. People have flown in from other countries to attend and FFF Week has truly become a global event that is on the plus size fashion industry’s radar.
FFF Week has become the pioneer in inspiring other plus fashion events to emerge all over the world such as British Plus Size Fashion Weekend in London, Curvy Couture Roadshow in Australia, Pulp Fashion Week in Paris and most recently, Plus Size Fashion Day in St Petersburg, Russia.
Our Editor-in-Chief Madeline Jones chatted with Gwen in this month’s issue of PLUS Model Magazine and Gwen offers a sneak peek at what to expect at this year’s event and more. Fresh off the casting tour that hit many US cities this year, Gwen also discusses how many models are chosen for FFF Week as well as tips to aspiring models on how to nail an audition.

Denise Bidot and Swimsuits For All have jointly unveiled the SwimStar All Stars nationwide search, dedicated to discovering emerging talent in the realm of swimsuit modeling. Encouraging aspiring models to share their personal narratives, the initiative aims to inspire women of all backgrounds, shapes, and sizes. Following a rigorous selection process, Brittany Wilborn, Camryn Henry, and Sharon Clawson emerged as the chosen winners. In January 2024, these models embarked on a transformative journey to Harbour Island, where they had the unparalleled opportunity to shoot alongside Denise under the expert direction of internationally acclaimed photographer and director, Ben Watts.
