Meet Ophilia Alleyne, The First Size-18/20 Model to Be Featured on The Shopping Channel
If you’ve watched The Shopping Channel lately, you may have noticed a new plus model being featured, front and center. We’re always supportive of seeing more size diversity in the industry so this has us very excited!
This stunning beauty is Canadian plus model Ophilia Alleyne and she is the first size 2X (size 18/20) model to be featured on The Shopping Channel:

Alleyne, who’s signed to b&m Models Toronto, is not new to the modeling scene. She’s been modeling since 2004, working for various plus brands (most notably Wal-Mart of Canada) and walked in runway shows including for The Fuller Woman Expo in Toronto and Caribbean Fashion Plus + Week. She recently hosted the Full Figured Fashion Week Model Casting Tour at their stop in Toronto.
She’s well known in the industry, not only as a model, but as an entrepreneur and positive force, inspiring women everywhere. She was the Body Confidence Canada Award Winner in 2014 and chosen last year as a recipient of the 100 Black Women to Watch in Canada Award.
Alleyne is receiving rave reviews on her Shopping Channel appearances with viewers posting on social media that they are happy to see a variety of models being used and they want to see Alleyne being used more.

Swimsuits For All, a pioneer in inclusive swimwear, proudly introduces its inaugural SwimStar All Stars campaign in partnership with renowned plus-size model and Swimsuits For All ambassador, Denise Bidot. This collaboration marks a significant milestone, nearly a decade following Denise’s groundbreaking “Beach Body, Not Sorry” campaign with Swimsuits For All in 2015, which showcased unretouched imagery aimed at promoting unapologetic confidence.
Denise Bidot and Swimsuits For All have jointly unveiled the SwimStar All Stars nationwide search, dedicated to discovering emerging talent in the realm of swimsuit modeling. Encouraging aspiring models to share their personal narratives, the initiative aims to inspire women of all backgrounds, shapes, and sizes. Following a rigorous selection process, Brittany Wilborn, Camryn Henry, and Sharon Clawson emerged as the chosen winners. In January 2024, these models embarked on a transformative journey to Harbour Island, where they had the unparalleled opportunity to shoot alongside Denise under the expert direction of internationally acclaimed photographer and director, Ben Watts.
